My Dad and Grandmother used to tell me stories about their life in China. In 2010-2015 I lived and taught in Qingdao, PRC. I kept comparing all the changes I saw to the Industrial Revolution in Europe that I learned about in Social Studies. China is changing rapdily day by day, and one can get swallowed up by the crowds of people, concrete buildings and commercialism. But, thankfully, the countryside still exists. A calm, beautiful place where you can recharge and listen to that still small voice.
